Amanda Steinberg | Founder & CEO

Bio: Amanda Steinberg started DailyWorth.com as a way to give women key insights into building real net worth. DailyWorth stands out as the go-to source about personal finance for smart, ambitious women. Since its inception in January 2009, DailyWorth has garnered 200,000+ subscribers and a stream of media appearances, including New York Times, Forbes, USA Today, and a recent 2-page spread in Cosmopolitan magazine. Amanda lives in Philadelphia with her two children, and her iPhone.
Financial Confession: I confess that in 2006 my husband and I bought slightly more house than we should have. Yes, on paper we can "afford it" and we had no trouble qualifying for the mortgage. In retrospect, we could and should have bought a house 1/3 of its size. Ah, hindsight is indeed 20-20.
MP Dunleavey | Editor-in-Chief

Bio: One of the nation's top personal finance writers, known for her long-time columns on MSN Money and in The New York Times, MP joined DailyWorth as editorial director December 2009. She is also a contributing editor at MONEY magazine, writing about women, families and finance. An award-winning journalist and author of "Money Can Buy Happiness", MP's work has been featured in numerous outlets, including: NPR's Marketplace, CBS, SELF, Good Housekeeping, Salon.com, and countless others.
Financial Confession: I absolutely loathe paying bills. So much so, that about a year into our marriage my husband got sick of all the last-minute scrambling ("Where's the phone bill? Did you pay the electric? What do you mean you forgot to mail the rent??") and took all the bill-paying into his own capable hands. That said, I did manage to set up all our retirement accounts and automate our savings—which he never would have done—so I'm not totally useless!
Hilary Fetter | Director of Marketing

Bio: Hilary comes to DailyWorth after seven years in the marketing field in a unique blend of roles - agency, start up, and corporate – including three years as IdealBite.com’s marketing manager prior to and after the 2008 acquisition by The Walt Disney Company. Hilary's experience in and knowledge of the ever-evolving online advertising space, email list growth, and women's demographic audience building brings a seasoned, no-nonsense approach to DailyWorth's team. Hilary lives in Bozeman, Montana, with her beagle, Louis, where she enjoys downhill skiing in the winters and gardening in the (short) summers.
Financial Confession: I didn’t know what a credit score was until I was a sophomore at St. Thomas University. Embarrassing, but true. Luckily, I didn’t get into too much trouble before I found out needed to pay those credit balances on time. I use Mint.com all the time, but so far it’s for monitoring how much over my shopping budget I am. I went through a period late college where I bounced checks enough that I’m certain USBank funded projects from my overdrafts.
Sara Rasmussen | Vice President of Sales

Bio: A start-up veteran, Sara has built her career in strategic sales roles at a number of emerging online media companies. Her special know-how is helping world-class brands effectively cut through the clutter and engage with the elusive female consumer online. Sara started her sales career as the first employee of Ideal Bite, a “light green” lifestyle daily email publisher that was acquired by The Walt Disney Co. in 2008. More recently she served as the Director of Sales, East Coast at Halogen Network, overseeing the women’s channel at a network of 100+ websites that reach the affluent consumer. Sara is based in Manhattan.
Financial Confession: Over the years I’ve passively contributed to an IRA and 401(k) and watched my savings stagnate in shamefully low interest-bearing CD and saving accounts – interest rates that can’t even keep up with inflation! I’m resolved to make this the year that I finally develop an investing game plan and put my money to work for me.
Elizabeth Schenck | Sales Assistant

Bio: Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth is new to New York City—and the DailyWorth team. A recent graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, she comes to DailyWorth with a myriad of experience in various industries, including music, entertainment, and online media and communications. She has worked almost exclusively with start-ups and small companies, and her expertise is in branding, partnerships, and sponsorship sales. She is excited about joining the sales team at DailyWorth and eager to apply her knowledge and the skills she’s developed in her role as Sales Assistant.
Financial Confession: Though I am very conscientious about money—always trying to save a buck or two wherever I can—and obsessive about budgeting and expense-tracking, I spend more than anyone who claims to be “money savvy” should on CDs and coffee. No matter how hard I try or what I budget for each for a particular month, I can never stay within the spending limits I set for myself. I’m hoping that working for DailyWorth will help me to nix—or at least improve—this over-spending habit of mine!

Bio: When Jen Lee joined the DailyWorth team in November 2009, she had no idea what a 401k or 529 fund was. But now she can proudly call herself financially savvy. Jen Lee produces and sends out the daily emails. In addition to working for DailyWorth, Jen is also the producer at Soapbxx, Amanda’s web consultancy. A graduate from Sarah Lawrence College, Jen lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Financial Confession: I confess that I haven't used my mint.com account since I first opened it in March 2010. I still don't budget—I don't pay attention to how much I spend a week on groceries and don't set aside money for an emergency fund. Instead I try to rationalize spending a big chunk of my paycheck on a new pair of boots or other frivolous things that I am sure mint.com would advise me not to purchase.
Katie Karlson | Integrated Sales Editor

Bio: Katie Karlson has worked in hedge funds and as a conference producer, but her true passions are writing and editing. She’s worked as a copy editor for major publishing houses, written articles on health, fashion and finance, and started and abandoned several blogs. She’s been on Twitter since May 2008, when she tweeted: “I love a nutritious dinner of breadsticks and Diet Coke.” Katie has an M.A. in Journalism from New York University and a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan. She lives in Brooklyn.
Financial Confession: I have a mountain of student-loan debt. I moved to New York when I was 22 and financed my Master's degree with hefty loans, and I've been struggling to make my payments since I graduated. Sometimes I'm ahead of the game, sometimes I fall behind, and sometimes I find myself sitting on my bed amid a pile of statements, totally confused about what I owe to whom. I've accepted the fact that I'll be paying off my loans for a long time, but my goal is to get them totally straightened out once and for all.
Simon Baumer | Technical Manager

Bio: Simon’s degree in politics from Ithaca College hardly qualifies him for his current responsibilities, but as he often says “sadly being born abroad took me out of the running for the Presidency.” Since Web development has always been a close second, he chose to pursue that instead. He’s known in his heart since he first set eyes on a computer monitor that he was destined to live and die by the code.
Financial Confession: I haven't had much time to have many financial slip-ups. I'm 27 and own a house. My father worked for one of the largest banking institutions in the world for 36 years so he didn't really leave any room for me to screw-up financially. Bankers blood runs deep within my veins.
